How we make ESAS fragrances

Real ingredients. Each and every one of them disclosed.

Real fragrance starts with knowing what goes into it.

Every ingredient starts as a plant, captured in one of five gentle ways. Most of our formulas use just a handful of ingredients, with no toxic inputs at any step. Here’s exactly what each method means.

Steam distillation

Steam passes through flowers and woods and carries their essential oil out with it.

Centuries-old perfumery

CO2 extraction

Pressurized carbon dioxide draws out the full aroma, then turns back to gas. Nothing left behind.

Our vanilla

Organic alcohol extraction

Delicate petals and resins are soaked in organic, plant-based alcohol to gently lift their scent.

For the most fragile flowers

Cold-pressing

A purely physical method: citrus peels are pressed to release their oil. No heat, no solvents.

Our bergamot

Fermentation

Natural microbes turn plant materials, like coconut oil, into aroma molecules.

Nothing hidden in the bottle

Traditional perfume hides its formula behind one word. We formulate with a small, selected palette and show you all of it.
