You check your skincare ingredients. You care about what’s in your food. Maybe you’ve even cleaned up your perfume collection.
But have you ever checked what your candle is made of?
Candles can burn in your home for hours at a time, so we think what goes into them matters.
Here’s what makes an ESAS candle different.
First: What’s the Deal With Conventional Candles?
Not all candles are made the same.
Many conventional candles use paraffin wax, which is derived from petroleum. Candles can also contain synthetic fragrance mixtures, artificial dyes and other additives.
And because candles involve combustion, burning them can release particulate matter and other compounds into your indoor air.
Our philosophy is pretty simple: if we’re going to burn something in our homes for hours, we want it made with ingredients we feel good about.

Our Wax? Olive + Coconut 🫒🥥
This is our favorite part.
ESAS candles are made with a proprietary blend of olive + coconut wax.
Yes, olive and coconut.
As in, ingredients so familiar you can find them in your kitchen.
Instead of using petroleum-derived paraffin wax, we chose a plant-based wax blend designed to give you a beautiful, slow, luxurious burn.
Kitchen-level familiar. Fine-fragrance-level luxury.
And We Don't Stop at the Wax
A cleaner wax wouldn't mean much to us if we filled it with a conventional synthetic fragrance oil.
Fragrance is what we do at ESAS, so our candles follow the same ingredient-first philosophy as our perfumes.
We formulate with natural ingredients, essential oils, botanical extracts and naturally derived isolates to create sophisticated scents without relying on conventional synthetic fragrance oils.
Because “clean” shouldn't mean your house has to smell like... nothing.
What You Won’t Find 🚫
Our approach is just as much about what we leave out.
No paraffin wax.
No conventional synthetic fragrance oils.
No artificial dyes.
Instead: olive + coconut wax, natural fragrance and a cotton wick.
Simple.
But Do They Actually Smell Good?
Oh, yes.
Clean doesn't have to mean boring, overly earthy or barely there.
Think creamy vanilla. Juicy citrus. Warm spices. Deep woods. Fresh linen. Crisp winter fir.
We create our candles like we create our fine fragrances: layered, elevated and designed to make your entire space smell incredible.
So… Should You Care What’s in Your Candle?
We think so.
A candle might sit beside you for hours while you work, cook, get ready, take a bath or wind down for the night.
If you care about what you put on your body, it makes sense to care about what you're burning around it, too.
And making the switch doesn't mean giving up the ritual.
It just means choosing a better version of it.
