At ESAS, that’s exactly how we began. As a vision led by women who believed the fragrance industry could be cleaner, more transparent, and more aligned with wellness.
ESAS is proudly women-founded. And we are proudly here to do things differently.
A Vision Rooted in Values
Founder Seda Bilginer is an innovator, and leader determined to disrupt antiquated beauty industry norms.
Seda’s story is one of balance: old-world tradition meeting modern science. Growing up between New York and New Jersey, with summers spent on her grandparents’ farm in Turkey, she developed a deep respect for nature, simplicity, and intentional living.
Inspired by her family’s work ethic and their love of all things natural, she pursued a degree in Chemistry with a minor in Math before entering the corporate beauty world. Over 15 years, she worked across skincare formulation, fine fragrance, product development, and account management - even managing a Fortune 500 bath and body care leader as one of the company’s largest accounts.
But experience brings clarity.
After decades inside the traditional fragrance industry, Seda knew something had to change. Consumers seeking synthetic-free options weren’t being served. Transparency was lacking. Standards felt outdated.
So she built what she wished existed.
Science with Heart
Alongside Seda is founder Amanda Sichon - a chemist driven by compassion, innovation, and real-life healing.
Amanda’s journey is deeply personal. After struggling with severe eczema, she experienced firsthand the limitations of conventional solutions. It wasn’t until she adopted an organic skincare and wellness routine that she was able to heal, in just three days, without the use of steroids.
Her academic background is equally rigorous: a degree in Chemistry with a minor in Public Health & Policy, followed by a Master of Science in Cosmetic Chemistry. She spent 10 years at a global fine fragrance and flavor company, rising from lab chemist to team leader in one of the fastest-growing categories. She also coordinated and managed the construction and execution of building a laboratory in Midtown Manhattan.
But Amanda’s passion extends beyond formulation. Influenced by her Filipino heritage and global travels, she understands how different cultures use local ingredients to nourish and heal.
At ESAS, she brings that global wisdom into modern, clean fragrance creation.
Why They Left the Traditional Fragrance Industry
Seda and Amanda love scent. Between them, they have over 25 years of experience in the fragrance world, and they chose to walk away.
They weren’t comfortable with the toxins commonly accepted in conventional fragrance. They saw consumers searching for synthetic-free options and not finding them and they knew the industry could do better.
So they decided to create beautiful fragrances made with ingredients that are good for you and the planet.
This is more than product development. It’s a mission.
